Self-Sustaining Industry for the Adoration Sisters
The Adoration Sisters in Ilorin cannot rely on donations from the community to support their living costs. Abound in Hope is one source of funding to help the Sisters set up a cottage industry (making clothing) to support themselves while continuing their spiritual mission. Abound in Hope also looks to contribute to capital improvement projects for the Monastery and for a vehicle to bring their goods to local markets for sale.

April 2021
The Adoration Sisters are praying with gratitude for the benefactors who provided their new retaining walls. As Nigeria's rainy season begins, they can continue their mission safely and without the worry of floods. The video shows how flood waters are now diverted away from their monastery through a large gutter system. Now they will be spared the kind of significant damage they suffered last year.

We are grateful to the donors who answered the call to protect the monastery of the Adoration Sisters from future flood damage. After heavy rains caused damage last year, the sisters needed support to make this capital improvement and continue their spiritual mission in Iona. These pictures show how the new retaining wall will include a concrete gutter that directs rainwater away from the monastery and into a nearby river. The Sisters keep their benefactors in their prayers.
December 2020
Fundraising for the Adoration Sisters going into 2021 has focused on raising money to help them with construction costs for a new retaining wall. In 2020, the monastery faced dangerous flooding from heavy rains. The flooding broke the gutter around the building. The sisters are planning on hiring a contractor to build a strong concrete gutter around the property to direct the rain waters to the nearby river.
Abound in Hope Nigeria has provided over $26,000 in grants to the Adoration Sisters in 2020 to assist with the gutter construction project and ongoing support and maintenance. Your donations will help complete the gutter project and provide the Sisters with additional funds to support the operation of the monastery. The Sisters pray regularly for their benefactors!

The Adoration Nuns received their car they purchased with our help for the market. A private car for traveling helps ensure their safety from kidnappers. Thank you for your continued support.
